Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to our Year 5 class page! We are excited to share all the wonderful learning, experiences and achievements happening in our classroom throughout the year.
Year 5 is an exciting year where children are encouraged to become increasingly independent, confident and curious learners. We enjoy exploring new ideas, challenging ourselves and working together as a team.
From inspiring lessons and creative projects to special events, there is always something to look forward to in Year 5. We are committed to creating a positive, supportive classroom where every child feels valued and has the opportunity to thrive.
We look forward to sharing our learning and celebrating our successes with you throughout the year. Welcome to Year 5!

Everyone’s Welcome
At our school, we believe that everyone is welcome and everyone belongs. As part of our Personal Development curriculum, we help children to understand, respect and celebrate the differences that make each of us unique.
Through lessons, stories, discussions and activities, children explore themes such as friendship, families, identity, culture, diversity, equality and respect. We encourage our pupils to be kind, curious and open-minded, helping them to understand that families and communities can be different while sharing many of the same values.
Our aim is to create a school community where every child feels safe, valued, respected and included, and where differences are celebrated rather than feared.
Range of books we will use to help us explore and understand: Dreams of Freedom, Where the Poppies Grow, The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Love You Forever and My Princess Boy.
