Art & Design
Art and Design stimulates children’s creativity and imagination. Children use colour, pattern, form, and texture to communicate what they see, feel and think. They explore different artists and learn about the diverse roles and functions of art in different times and cultures.
Working Together
In Art and Design lessons children have the opportunity both to work on their own and to collaborate with others, listening to other children’s ideas and treating these with respect. Children work on projects in two and three dimensions and on different scales. They have the opportunity to use a wide range of materials and resources, including IT.
Cross-Curricular Art & Design Work
Art and Design is also taught through cross curricular links with other subjects such as history and geography and on special themed days such as Remembrance and The King’s Coronation.
